Possible reasons:

The configured HP P6000 Command View instance is not reachable.

The performance object is in a failed state in the HP P6000 Command View instance that is
managing the corresponding storage system

Solution:
1.

Verify the performance object status in the HP P6000 Command View instance and rectify
the issue.

2.

Try to add the performance object for monitoring. For more information, see

“Adding

performance objects for monitoring” (page 55)

.

If the issue still persists:
1.

Stop the HP P6000 Command View Server service.

2.

Start the HP P6000 Command View Server service.

3.

Retry adding the performance object.

Storage system is not displayed in the list to be added for monitoring

Possible reasons:

The HP P6000 Performance Advisor instance might not have discovered the HP P6000
Command View instance that is managing the storage system you want to add.

The HP P6000 Performance Data Collector instance that is accessing the storage system is
not configured in HP P6000 Performance Advisor.

The configured HP P6000 Command View or HP P6000 Performance Data Collector instance
is not reachable.

The storage system might already be monitored by another instance of HP P6000 Performance
Advisor in the same management group.

Solution:
1.

Verify status of the storage system in the HP P6000 Command View instance that is managing
the storage system.

2.

Manually verify using EVAPerf ls to see if the storage system is accessible through the
configured HP P6000 Performance Data Collector.

3.

Verify the current configuration of the HP P6000 Performance Data Collector instance and
make the appropriate changes. For more information, see

“Editing the port number of HP

P6000 Performance Data Collector instances” (page 72)

.

4.

Verify if the HP P6000 Command View instance is accessible and in the same management
group.

Check if the Connection Status shows as Up under the Command View Settings tab. For more
information, see

“Viewing HP P6000 Command View instances” (page 73)

. Start the HP

P6000 Command View service.

5.

Verify if the HP P6000 Performance Data Collector instance is accessible.

Check if the Connection Status shows as Up under the Performance Data Collector Settings
tab. If the Connection Status is Down, start the HP P6000 Performance Data Collector service.

If the issue persists:
1.

Stop the HP P6000 Performance Advisor Server service followed by the HP P6000 Command
View service and then the HP MIF service.

2.

Start the HP MIF service followed by the HP P6000 Command View service and then the HP
P6000 Performance Advisor Server service.

Performance object is not displayed in the list of objects to be added for monitoring
