When adding a chart for a performance object, only that object is listed in the Object
Instance(s) list.

10. Click >> to move the combinations to the Selection Instance(s) box. After you click the >>

button, the Select category list is disabled, which indicates that further categories cannot be
selected. Click << to move back the selected records from the Selection Instance(s) box. The
Select category list is again enabled if the Selection Instance(s) box is empty.

At a time, you can select a maximum combination (performance objects and counters) of eight
records to plot chart. If the option to include threshold lines in chart is enabled, you can only
choose one combination to plot chart. You can also filter the list to view records that match
the specified criteria. For more information, see

“Using the Filter by list” (page 16)

.

11. (Optional) Repeat steps 7 to 10 as appropriate.
12. Click OK.

NOTE:

If you specify an existing chart name, the OK button is disabled. You are prompted

to enter a unique name.

The user chart settings are saved in the database. The chart appears in a separate chart window
in the Grid view, and also a chart record is created in the List view. For more information on the
Grid view and List view, see

“Chart views” (page 116)

.

IMPORTANT:

If you navigate to the Chart tab from a different tab, the chart profiles are retained

in the Grid view.

Editing chart settings

IMPORTANT:

You can edit chart settings only from the Grid view. You can change the duration

(predefined interval, custom duration, or plotting live data), and other options.

Procedure

To edit the chart settings:
1.

In the chart window for which you want to edit the settings, click Edit.

2.

In the Edit chart input window, select the duration and the corresponding additional options.

3.

Click OK. The modified user chart settings are saved in the database.

Removing charts

When you remove a chart in Grid view or List view, the change is reflected in both chart views.

Procedure

To remove a chart in Grid view:
1.

Select Grid from the chart view list, if necessary.

2.

Click X in the title pane of the chart window.

3.

You are prompted to confirm your action. Click OK. The user chart settings are deleted.

To remove chart records in List view:
1.

Select List from the chart view list, if necessary.

2.

From the list, select the check box for a chart record and click Remove.

The Remove button is enabled only in the List view.

3.

You are prompted to confirm your action. Click OK. The user chart settings are deleted.
