8 Maintaining database
This chapter describes how to maintain the database, including viewing, purging, exporting,
backing up and restoring data.

HP P6000 Performance Advisor database summary
Procedure
To view a summary of database settings for an instance of HP P6000 Performance Advisor:
1.
In the Navigation pane, click Settings.
2.
From the list, click the plus (+) sign for the HP P6000 Performance Advisor instance.
3.
From the list, select Database.
The database summary for the selected HP P6000 Performance Advisor instance is displayed. The
following table describes the data:
Displays the operating platform installed on the server
where the selected HP P6000 Performance Advisor instance
is installed.
Operating System
Displays additional information about the operating system.
Description
Displays vendor name for the operating system.
Vendor
Displays the operating system version.
Version
Displays name of the database product.
Product Name
Displays the database version.
Identification
Displays port used by the database service.
Port
Displays the database instance.
Database
Displays the status of the database service (Started or
Stopped).
Service Status
Displays the current size of the database that is occupying
the server space.
Size of Database
Displays the current free space on the server.
Remaining Space
Exporting storage system data
Export activity allows you to export state and performance data of the current set of monitored
objects in a storage system. The data is exported into a csv file format. Only one export activity
can be processed and other export activities if initiated will be in the queue.
CAUTION:
When the export activity for a storage system is in progress and the storage system
is removed from monitoring, the export activity fails. However, if you remove one of its
corresponding performance objects from monitoring, the export will still complete.
Procedure
To export data for a storage system:
1.
Follow the first three steps in
“HP P6000 Performance Advisor database summary” (page 133)

2.
Click the Export Database tab and then Export.
