Using Edit threshold profile settings link

The Edit threshold profile settings link above the threshold summary table helps you configure
threshold settings or edit an existing threshold profile. Use the link as follows:

For the selected duration, if a performance object is not threshold monitored for a counter, a
gray bar appears for that counter and the threshold profile is not available. Instead, a hyphen
(-) appears for that counter in the threshold summary table. Click the Edit threshold profile
settings link to access the object type folder in the Navigation pane under Settings. Then, from
the list, select the specific performance object to configure the threshold settings. For more
information on configuring threshold settings, see

“Adding performance objects for monitoring”

(page 55)

.

If you want to edit the threshold profile associated with a performance object, click the Edit
threshold profile settings link above the threshold summary table. Depending on the threshold
profile, one of the following occurs:

For a threshold profile, you are redirected to the Threshold Profiles window, where you
can select the threshold profile applied for the performance object and edit the threshold
settings. For more information, see

“Adding threshold profiles” (page 60)

.

For a custom threshold profile, you are redirected to the object type folder of the
performance object (under Settings

→P6000 Performance Advisor instance→Storage

Systems

→Individual storage system→Object type folder). Further, select the object type

folder and click the Performance tab in the Content pane. Then, select the performance
object from the list to edit the configured threshold settings. For more information, see

“Adding performance objects for monitoring” (page 55)

Interpretation of the threshold summary – performance object

Interpret the threshold summary data in

Figure 5 (page 106)

as follows:

The threshold summary is displayed for a predefined interval of 12 hours for one of the virtual
disks. The threshold profile is vd–profile. The interpretation includes the Write MB/s and Total
Read MB/s counters, and will be similar for the other counters:
