To disable Domain Validation support for all adapters controlled by the

SYMC8XX.MPD

,

SYM_HI.MPD

, or

SYM_U3.MPD

driver, follow these steps:

Step 1.

Click on the Start button. Select Settings-->Control Panel.

Step 2.

Double click on the System icon.

Step 3.

Click on the Device Manager tab.

Step 4.

Either double click on the SCSI controllers entry, or click once
on the plus sign to the left of it.

One entry for each host adapter installed in the system
appears.

Step 5.

Select any adapter controlled by the desired driver, then click
on the Properties button.

Step 6.

Click on the Settings tab.

Step 7.

Type

DisableDomainValidation=1;

in the Adapter

settings entry.

If there is already an entry displayed, type the above at the end
of the existing entry. Be sure to include the semicolon.

Step 8.

Click OK to exit from the Settings tab.

Step 9.

Click OK again.

If the entry was changed, the "System Settings Change" dialog
box appears.

Step 10. Click Yes to restart the computer.

After the system reboots, Domain Validation is disabled for
adapters controlled by the selected driver. To re-enable Domain
Validation, delete the entry that was made above. If other
entries exist, be sure to leave them intact.

To disable Domain Validation support for a selected device, using the
SCSI BIOS Configuration Utility, follow these steps:

Step 1.

Press

Ctrl-C

to start this utility when prompted to do so

during system boot.

Step 2.

Select the desired adapter and press Enter.

Step 3.

Choose "Device Selections" and press Enter.
