this initial UNIX kernel due to problems with installation
procedures, type
unix.safe
at the boot prompt.
Step 1.
Insert the SDMS BTLD diskette into the drive to install the
SDMS driver and type:
installpkg
Press Enter.
A system prompt appears to insert the requested diskette.
Step 2.
Press Enter.
The system prompts you for the name of the package.
Step 3.
Type at the prompt:
slha
Press Enter to continue.
If a driver is already present from a previous installation, a
system prompt inquires about replacing it.
Step 4.
Reply
y
for yes.
Step 5.
Relink the kernel after the install package (
installpkg
) has
completed by typing:
/etc/conf/cf.d/link_unix
at the command prompt.
The system executes the command and then prompts for a
response to:
1.
Do you want this kernel to boot by default (y/n)?
Type:
y
Press Enter.
Then the system backs up the old kernel.
2. Do you want the kernel environment rebuilt (y/n)?
Type:
y
Press Enter.
Step 6.
Reboot the system to activate the new kernel by typing at the
command prompt:
reboot
