If you place the three blockĆtransfer modules in different racks,
however, you can blockĆtransfer to all three modules in one I/O
scan. To optimize your system layout for blockĆdata transfers, use an
arrangement similar to the following:
With this arrangement, a blockĆtransfer to each BT
module can occur in a single discrete I/O scan.
Maximum scan time
Minimum time to complete
a blockĆtransfer to all modules
= 3 discrete scans + 3 blockĆtransfers
= 3D + 3BT
= 1 (3D + 3BT)
= 3D + 3BT

Here are some guidelines regarding program scan times:
If you are:
Your program's scan time
should be:
using blockĆtransfers
greater than the minimum time to
complete a blockĆtransfer to all
block transfer modules
not using block transfers
greater than the remote I/O scan time

AllenĆBradley Remote I/O Installation
Considerations
AllenĆBradley remote I/O equipment requires mounting, wiring and
grounding practices that may be different from AutoMax mounting,
wiring and grounding practices. Although this section highlights
some key points, refer to these standards and publications for
complete details:
D IEEE standard 518Ć1982
D Rockwell Automation Industrial Automation Wiring and
Grounding Guidelines, publication 1770Ć4.1
D Rockwell Automation Safety Guidelines for the Application,
Installation, and Maintenance of Solid State Controls, publication
SGIĆ1.1
Also, we provide recommendations for configuring adapter devices.
Refer to section 4.6.3 for specific switch setting information.
