Drop Cable and Communications
Passive Tap
The drop cable and the
Communications Passive Tap (tap) are
used to connect the AutoMax PC3000
to the coaxial cable. The drop cable
(M/N 57C381) is a threeĆfoot long
multiconductor cable with two 9Ćpin
DĆshell connectors at either end. It
connects the PC3000 to the tap.
The tap (M/N 57C380) provides two
BNCĆjack connectors for connection
to the coaxial cables and terminating
loads. A 9Ćpin DĆshell connector is
provided for connection to the drop
cable. The tap has two fault isolation
resistors in series with the
transmission line to prevent a
malfunctioning PC3000 from affecting
other drops on the network.
