3.5 Simplex/Duplex Setting
The machine is initially set to simplex copy mode [1->1] to make single-sided copies from the single-sided
original.
Follow the procedure below to make double-sided copies from the original scanned from the ADF or from
the original glass (duplex copying), and also to make single-sided copies from the double-sided original.
3.5.1 Making Double-Sided Copies Using ADF
Follow the procedure below to make double-sided copies from the single-sided or double-sided original
scanned from the ADF.
Specify [Direction] according to the direction of the original loaded in the ADF.
The side-bound double-sided copies (having the same edge as page top) can be made from top-bound dou-
ble-sided originals (printed upside down on back pages.)
The top-bound double-sided copies (printed upside down on back pages) can be made from side-bound sin-
gle- or double-sided originals.
The machine is set to match the bind direction of copies to that of the original automatically.
