Outline of Sample Print
The Sample Print function outputs a sheet of sample image for the current print job to the secondary (sub)
tray of the finishing option, in order to check the image quality at that time while making a large amount of
prints.
Some types of print job, such as those specified with [Perfect Bind], [Fold & Staple], [Staple], or using stacker
of Large Capacity Stacker LS-505, do not allow you to check results while the machine operation is in pro-
gress. Use Sample Print to check the image quality during a job mentioned above.
NOTICE
Descriptions provided here supposes that the machine is equipped with Paper Feeder Unit (with scanner)
PF-705 and Hard Disk Kit HD-514. The Sample Print function is available on the machine mounted with Im-
age Controller IC-601 in addition to the above options.

Sample Print uses the same paper tray as used for the current print job. Paper loaded in another tray
cannot be used for Sample Print.

Sample Print is unavailable at the time when the current job uses paper fed from the post inserter tray
or Perfect Binder PB-503 cover tray.

Sample Print is unavailable at the time when the current job uses tabbed sheets for printing.

Sample Print is unavailable at the time when a blank original is printed.

Sample Print is unavailable at the time when the current job is output to the secondary (sub) tray, or
when the secondary (sub) tray cannot be used for output.

The print count for Sample Print is to be made normally except for the following cases.

Making Sample Print Manually during Output: Execute Sample Print
Press [Execute Sample Print] on the Machine Screen to manually make a sample print when you want to
check the quality of printed image during an output job.

The [Execute Sample Print] key is grayed out to show inactivity when the machine has no print job or
stops printing.

Sample Print is unavailable without the secondary (sub) tray for sample prints specified. Contact your
service representative, if desired.

Position the original, then press [COPY] tab on the Machine Screen to display the Copy Screen.

Select the desired copy conditions, then press Start on the control panel.

Description
Execute Sample Print
Press [Execute Sample Print] on the Machine Screen to manually
make a sample print when you want to check the quality of print-
ed image during an output job.
Sample Print Setting
Press [Sample Print Setting] on the Machine Screen to previously
set the Sample Print function before starting an output job. With
this function set, the machine automatically delivers a sample
print in specified cycle during the output job.
