Description
Element
Indicates the name of the partition to which the drive is
assigned.
Partition Name
Indicates the serial number of the drive.
Serial #
Indicates the drive firmware version.
Firmware Version
In the Control area:
Cycles power to the specified drive by removing the power
and then restoring it. Try to reset drives before you cycle
power to them.
Power Cycle
Resets the specified drive without cycling the power.
Reset Drive
Varies off or varies on the specified drive. The label of the
button toggles between Vary Off and Vary On. Each use
Vary Off or Vary On
of this button updates the drive information in the Drive(s)
area. Use this button to hot swap drives.
Causes a status LED on the back of the specified drive to
blink rapidly so that you can identify it. When you click
Identify
Identify, a message informs you that you can now identify
the drive by the rapidly blinking LED on the back of it. After
you find the drive, click OK to stop the rapid blinking.
Runs a pass/fail test on the specified drive.
Self Test
Ejects any currently loaded tape from the specified drive.
Eject
Enables you to email or save a Support Ticket (see
“Emailing, saving, and printing test logs” (page 160)
).
Support Ticket
Enables the drive cleaning process (see
).
Clean
Displays the Drive Details window for the selected drive.

Details
Removes host access restrictions on a specified drive, such
as a persistent reservation or prevent medium removal.
Remove IT Nexus
Closes the window.
Cancel
Displays context-specific Online Help.
Help
Viewing drive details
To view drive details:
1.
On the Drives window in the Drive(s) area, select the appropriate drive row and click Details.
2.
The Drive Details area displays information about the selected drive.
3.
To return to the Drives window, click Cancel.
