of "Error" or higher are to be output.
Make sure that the

/etc/syslog.conf

file contains the following configuration

entry. We recommend setting the output destination for

*.err

in the

/etc/

syslog.conf

file to the default

/var/adm/messages

directory.

*.err;kern.debug;daemon.notice;mail.crit; /var/adm/messages

When you collect audit log data, we recommend that you use any of the extended

facilities (local0 to local7) as the exclusive output destination for the data. We also

recommend that you specify

info

as the severity level for the extended facility. This

example shows how to specify the recommended settings in the

/etc/syslog.conf

file:

local0.info /usr/local/audlog

(8) Set Up VxVM

To use HDLM and VxVM on the same host, set up VxVM as follows:

Make sure that the logical device file under the

/dev/dsk

If the information is not backed up, perform step 4 in (1) Performing Operations

If a created disk group already contains a device that is to be managed by HDLM,
