Workgroup storage configuration
1. For K2 System Type, select
Workgroup Storage
.
2. Define the system with the following:
• One Gigabit Ethernet switch
• One K2 Media Server
• The number and type of clients appropriate for your system.
3. Configure the NH K2 Media Server, selecting the following roles:
• SNFS File System Server
• FTP Server
• NAS Server
4. Check software on the NH K2 Media Server as prompted by K2Config. MPIO
software is not required.
5. Configure the NH K2 Media Server’s GigE port 2 for the FTP network
6. Configure RAID disks in sets of 6 as RAID 5.
7. When making the new file system, if Access Control Lists are desired, select
Windows Security
.
8. Configure File System Server the same as Nearline 10.
9. Configure FTP Server the same as Nearline 10.
For redundant Workgroup storage, use the K2 System Configuration application with
the following specifications:
1. For K2 System Type, select
Workgroup Storage
.
2. Select the
Server redundancy
option.
3. Define the system with the following:
• Two Gigabit Ethernet switches
• Two K2 Media Servers
• The number and type of clients appropriate for your system.
4. Configure each NH K2 Media Server, selecting the following roles:
• SNFS File System Server
• FTP Server
• NAS Server
5. Check software on each NH K2 Media Server as prompted by K2Config. MPIO

6. Configure each NH K2 Media Server’s GigE port 2 for the FTP network
