dynamically binarized by Ascent Xtrata Pro Server. For multi-page documents, each
color page is binarized and saved as a bitonal image.
Ascent Xtrata Pro Server can also be used only for classification. In this case, no
locator methods are defined for the class. The classification result is passed either as a
form type or in a special field that stores the class name. Ascent Xtrata Pro classifies
all documents in the batch and passes the results to the next queue in the workflow.
When running as an application (rather than as a service), Ascent Xtrata Pro Server
can be started either from the Windows start button or the Ascent Capture Batch
Manager.
Note When you start Ascent Xtrata Pro Server using the Ascent Capture Batch
Manager, keep in mind that a batch may be locked by a Server running on a different
computer or as a service. In this case the following error message is provided:
"Error in function ProcessBatch: the batch is currently locked. "

Service
The Server can run as an application, where it has a graphical user interface, or it can
run in the background as a Windows service.
X To start the Ascent Xtrata Pro Batch Processing Service
1 From the Windows taskbar, select Start | Settings | Control
panel | Administrative Tools | Services to display the Services utility.
Note
This sequence may differ according to the version of your operating
system. For example, in Windows XP, select Start | All
Programs | Administrative Tools | Services.

In the list of services, select the Ascent Xtrata Pro Batch Processing Service.

Open the service properties dialog box

Click Start to start the service.
