The standard equipment package for the FIC-6FCM includes the appropriate number of interface
cables.
Connecting the interface cable

Before connecting a port, read its label carefully. A wrong connection can cause damages to the
interface module and even the device.
z
You are recommended to add a special lightning arrester at the input end of the telephone cable
for better protection.
Step1 Connect one end of a telephone cable to the RJ-11 or RJ-45 connector of the FCM interface.
Step2 Connect the other end of the telephone cable to PSTN network.
Upgrading the FCM module software
Step1 Download the FCM module software to the CF card or flash card of the router.
Step2 After the router that is inserted with the FCM card is powered on and starts up, input bootrom update
file cfa0:/ filename slot slotnum all in the user mode to upgrade FCM card software.
Step3 Run the display version command to display the driver version. If the version number is changed, the
upgrade is completed.
The driver version number is just like (Driver) 1.0 in the module information displayed as follows:
