5. Leave the battery to charge for the appropriate time as shown in the table (assuming battery is com-

pletely discharged).

6. Unplug the battery when the LED becomes steady Green and/or all the LEDs illuminate on the battery

LED array.

FIRST TIME USE - SETTING UP YOUR RED ONE

Before recording, the camera must be set up properly.
1.

Physically set-up camera as desired.

2.

Download the latest camera firmware from

www.RED.com/support

and upgrade camera. Refer to

APPENDIX A: UPGRADING CAMERA FIRMWARE

Perform a Black Shading Calibration. Refer to

under MAINTENANCE in SETUP

under SYSTEM MENU CONTROLS.

4.

Verify Back Focus and adjust if necessary. Refer to

Connect digital media to camera. Refer to

Set up your project (Resolution, Time Base, Quality, etc.) Refer to

Format media. Refer to

Develop an exposure methodology using the camera tools (False Color, Histogram, etc.) and testing
