APPENDIX E: MASTER / SLAVE CAMERA CONFIGURATION

When cameras are connected in the master / slave configuration, the user interface will display M for the

Master camera and S for the Slave camera. The slave camera CANNOT initiate recording. The slave cam-

era clip name is forced to use the master camera's I.D.
It is not recommended to mix a MYSTERIUM with a MYSTERIUM X camera. Use either both MYSTERIUM

or MYSTERIUM X cameras when recording 3-D footage.

PREPARATION

Before connecting cameras together, decide which camera will be the master and which will be the slave.

Ideally the master camera will be the one easiest to adjust once mounted in the configuration used during

recording. In addition to the basic setup of the cameras as outlined in BASIC OPERATION >

FIRST TIME

USE – SETTING UP YOUR RED ONE

make adjustments to master and slave cameras as necessary be-

fore powering down, connecting the two cameras together and powering up again.
CAMERAS: Ensure that both master and slave cameras are either MYSTERIUM or MYSTERIUM X.

DO NOT mix cameras.

CAMERA BUILD: Ensure both cameras are on the same build. Upgrade camera firmware on both if

necessary. Refer to

APPENDIX A: UPGRADING CAMERA FIRMWARE

.

MEDIA: Ensure that both master and slave cameras are using identical size media. Media is formatted

using master camera after connected together. When formatting media, ensure that both master and

slave cameras have media attached.
NOTE: CHANGE REEL # and RESET REEL # functions only work for the master camera when in

master / slave mode. When a FORMAT is performed under CHANGE or RESET, the master
camera will format the slave camera media, incrementally advancing it to the next reel number.

FLUT: FLUT parameter remains independent on slave camera when in master / slave mode. Ensure

FLUT is set-up on slave camera as desired. FLUT offset can be adjusted after cameras are connected

together and rebooted.

AUDIO: Audio parameters remain independent on slave camera when in master / slave mode. Ensure

audio is set-up on both cameras as desired.

GPI: Program GPI triggers for master and slave cameras.
