Select the required port to test.
The Port x Test menu appears:
PORT x TEST
1. SINGLE PASS
2. CONTINUOUS PASSES
3. STOP/START
4. RESTART
5. QUIT TO PORT TEST MENU

Select the required option.
The port baud rate and Carrier Detect (CD) status are displayed on the first line below the test
menu.
• Single Pass executes one pass through the test and stops. A Test Count/Fail display is
updated. If data errors are detected, the expected and read values are displayed on the third
line below the menu.
• Continuous Passes continually runs successive test passes until one of the other options is
selected. The Test Count/Fail display is updated after each pass.
• Stop/Start stops testing in the continuous passes mode or restarts continuous testing when
pressed again.
• Restart test option re-initializes the Test Count/Fail display, then executes the last selected
test option.
Terminal: DEADMAN TIMER RESET
Use this option to test the deadman timer. Selecting this test allows the deadman timer to
expire and resets the system.

Type DIAG then press ENTER. Select Yes to enter Enhanced Diagnostics. The Diagnostic
Menu appears.

Select DEADMAN TIMER TEST, press ENTER. The deadman timer test menu appears.
The system displays “System reset should occur within 1 sec. after test execution.”

Select EXECUTE DEADMAN TIMER TEST. The system should reset and the SIGN ON:
prompt should appear. Sign on using your sign on code.
