Setting Up Your System for the First Time
• Perform Setup commands to configure the system.
• Set up the files you will need for fuel management: vehicle file, manual entry file, tank
file, pump file, PCU setup file, and the transaction file.
The start-up commands for your system may be executed through the system keypad, through
the optional terminal interface, or via a PC/TopKAT software package. The commands
essential for system operation are listed with the proper access path for keypad or terminal
interface. PC/TopKAT software information is contained in a separate manual.
In addition you may use additional commands to customize your system to your personal
preferences. These commands are detailed in the chapters that follow.
Keypad Setup for Standalone or Master Mode
To enter into the Keypad Setup for Standalone or Master Mode, proceed as follows:

Enter Setup mode; move CPU board switch SW1, position 1 to Open.

Stop the pumps.
Sequence: Setup/Stop

Load the system mode (STANDALONE or MASTER).
Sequence: Setup/Load Mode/selection

Load the type of PCUs from this list:
• ALL 9800
• 4-HOSE MECH. PCU(S)
• 2-HOSE MECH I/F
• 9800 + MECH (master only).
Sequence: Setup/Load PCU Type/selection

Load the type of entry mode to be used from this list:
• KEY ONLY
• KEYPAD ONLY
• KEY OR KEYPAD
Sequence: Setup/Select Entry Mode/selection

Load the system date.
Sequence: Setup/Load Date

Determine if the validation of manually entered numbers will be required. You will complete
defining your manual entry file in steps

Clear the Vehicle File.
