Accessing the Terminal Diagnostics Menu

Diagnostics and Utilities

Terminal: KEYPAD TEST

Use this command to display the information received at the keypad.

Select KEYPAD TEST; press ENTER.
A box appears in the center of the screen and the following message displays:
“Waiting for TopKAT keypad entry, press any terminal key to exit.”
Note: Any keys pressed at the keypad display on the terminal.

Press any terminal key to exit this test.

Terminal: DATAKEY TEST

Use this option to read and display the data from a key inserted into the receptacle.

On the diagnostic Main Menu, select DATAKEY TEST.
The Datakey Test screen appears:

DATAKEY TEST

Key Type:

System Id:

Key #:

CRC1:

Last Odometer:

Previous Odometer:

CRC2:

Insert Datakey to read

Press any key for Main Menu...

Insert and turn key to be read.
The key data is displayed in the format shown above. It also displays a table which contains all
the datakey bytes. The CRC1 and CRC2 fields display valid or invalid.

Terminal: PORT TEST

Use this option to verify that the serial ports are functioning properly. Tests are available for
Ports 1, 2, and 3 (Not available on Port 3 for master. Port 3 is connected to terminal).

Remove the connector from the port being tested.

Plug in the loopback jumper to the port connector. Ensure that the K1 and K2 port jumpers are
jumpered correctly for the port.

On the diagnostic Main Menu, select PORT TEST.
The Port Test Menu appears:

PORT TEST

1. PORT 1 TEST

2. PORT 2 TEST

3. PORT 3 TEST

4. QUIT TO MAIN MENU
