Setting Up Your System for the First Time
Getting Started/System Setup
Terminal Mode Setup
To enter into the Terminal Mode Setup, proceed as follows:

Enter command mode. Press ENTER to bring up SIGN ON: message. The password is
factory loaded to GASBOY.

Stop the pumps if running. Type STOP.

Load the current date. Type LO DA.

Define your manual entry field name. Type CO MA. Select the name.

Clear files using clear file command. Type CL F and select option 5 to clear all files.

Add records to your vehicle file and manual entry file. Use AD REC V for the vehicle file; use
AD REC x for the manual entry file where x is the first character of the manual entry name.
Note: When loading vehicle records, remember that keys purchased through Gasboy will be
encoded as key #1 through key #50, and then as specified. Load vehicle records to
correspond to existing key numbers.

Configure system parameters. Use the CO SY and CO PC commands depending on your
configuration. Refer to the details for each command in

Initialize the pump and tank files. Type the initialize file command, I F and select option 3 to
initialize the pump file and option 4 to initialize the tank file.

Load the pump and tank files. Type L PU and load the pump data, then type L TA and load
the tank data.

Load the starting transaction number. Type LO TR and enter the number.

For systems with the terminal option on port 2, determine whether the logger option should be
enabled. It is disabled at the factory. When enabled, transactions will print to the terminal upon
completion. Type the configure logger (CO LOG) command.

Determine whether Memory Protection is required. The system is shipped with the Memory
Protection enabled, which means if transactions are not polled out of the system, the memory
could fill up and stop accepting new transactions until polling is completed. Disabling
Memory Protection means transactions may be overwritten as memory fills. Type enable
protection command (EN PR).

Execute the RUN command to start communications between the dispensing equipment and
the TopKAT. Type RUN.
