About Diagnostics and Utilities
Diagnostics allow the user to test various components of the TopKAT. Some diagnostics are
available via the keypad; others are available only by the DIAG terminal command. Keypad
diagnostics are available at the master unit as well as all satellite units. The TopKAT provides
the following diagnostic tests and utilities (listed alphabetically for easy reference):
• Beeper Test (terminal only)
• Datakey Read (keypad); Datakey Test (terminal)
• Deadman Timer Reset (terminal only)
• DIP Switch Test (keypad and terminal)
• Display Test (keypad and terminal)
• Health Light Test (terminal only)
• Key Read Totalizer and Reset Key Read Totalizer (keypad only)
• Keypad Test (keypad and terminal)
• PCMCIA Test (keypad and terminal)
• PCU Status (keypad only)
• Port Test (keypad and terminal)
• Printer Test (terminal only)
• Program Version (keypad only)
• RAM Test (keypad and terminal)
• ROM Test (keypad and terminal)
• PCMCIA Backup/Restore utility (optional; keypad only)
This section presents the keypad commands first, then the terminal commands. Commands are
shown in their functional sequence.
