Appendix A Level 35 K2 Storage System
L35 K2 Storage System configuration
For a non-redundant system (L35), use the K2 System Configuration application to
configure as you would a Level 20 K2 Storage System, with the following
specifications:
1. For K2 System Type, select
Custom
.
2. Define the system with the following:
• One Gigabit Ethernet switch
• Two K2 Media Servers
• Optionally, one additional NH K2 Media Server
• The number and type of clients appropriate for your system.
3. First configure the GS K2 Media Server that is the media file system and database
server, selecting the following roles:
• SNFS file system server
• iSCSI bridge
• Media database server
4. Configure RAID the same as Level 30.
5. If there is no optional NH1-10GE K2 Media Server, for the GS K2 Media Server
that is not the media file system and database server, select the following roles:
• iSCSI bridge
• FTP server
• NAS server
6. If there is an optional NH1-10GE K2 Media Server, for the GS K2 Media Server
that is not the media file system and database server, select the following role:
• iSCSI bridge
7. For the optional NH1-10GE K2 Media Server, select the following roles:
• FTP server
• NAS server
For a redundant system (L35R), configure as you would a Level 20R K2 Storage
System, taking the above specifications into consideration.
