Appendix A Level 35 K2 Storage System
L35 cabling
Also refer to the K2 Storage System Level 35 Cabling Guide.
For a non-redundant system (L35) connect cables as you would a Level 20 K2 Storage
System, with the following specifications:
• On each GS K2 Media Server, connect both iSCSI ports to media ports on the GigE
switch.
• On the GS K2 Media Server that is the media file system and database server, do
not connect the FTP port. This port is unused.
• If there is no optional NH1-10GE K2 Media Server, on the GS K2 Media Server
that is not the media file system and database server, connect the FTP port to a
control port on the GigE switch.
• If there is an optional NH1-10GE K2 Media Server, on the GS K2 Media Server
that is not the media file system and database server, do not connect the FTP port.
This port is unused.
• If there is an optional NH1-10GE K2 Media Server, connect the ten Gigabit
connection on the NH1-10GE server to the ten Gigabit connection on the back of
the GigE switch. Use the included ten Gigabit cable.
• Cable the L30 RAID using the Level 30 instructions. Make the Fibre Channel
connection from each GS K2 Media Server to one of the standard Fibre Channel
ports on the controller. Make the Fibre Channel connection from the optional
NH1-10GE K2 Media Server to one of the Fibre Channel expansion ports.
For a redundant system (L35R), connect cables as you would a Level 20R K2 Storage
System, taking the above specifications into consideration.
