Central Unit in a Wireless Network
In a wireless network, an access point acts as a stand-alone root unit. The access
point is not attached to a wired LAN; it functions as a hub linking all stations
together. The access point serves as the focal point for communication, increasing
the communication range of wireless users.

Unpacking
To unpack the access point, follow these steps:
1. Unpack and remove the access point and the accessory kit from the
shipping box.
2. Return any packing material to the shipping container and save it for
future use.
3. Verify that you have received the items listed below.
• Stratix 5100 Wireless Access Point/Workgroup Bridge
• Mounting bracket, screws included
