To send a fax

Sending a fax while confirming the status of the recipient’s machine
(Manual transmission).
Use this operation when sending a fax while checking the status of the receiving machine. This is called a
manual transmission.
Quick Memory TX cannot be used with manual transmission.

Press [Fax/Scan] key to display the Fax/Scan screen.

Load the original to be faxed.

Refer to "Loading the original" on page 2-6 for details on loading the original.

Specify Scan Settings functions if required.

For details on scan settings, refer to "Specifying scanning conditions" on page 2-9 or "Scan
Settings" on page 6-2.

Touch [Off-Hook].
–
When [RX] is selected, touch [Send] to set the machine to Tranmission mode.

If "Confirm Address (TX)" in Utility mode is set to "ON", [Off-Hook] does not appear.

When an external phone is connected, lifting the receiver of the external phone places the machine
in the same state as that when [Off-Hook] is touched.

Destinations are specified as follows.

Specifying from registered destinations

Specifying by direct input

Specifying from the job history
–
Specifying from the program destinations

Touch [Start] when you hear a repeated "paw...paw" sound.

When [Start] key is pressed, the "Off-Hook start" confirmation screen is displayed. Touch [Yes] and
then touch [OK] to start transmission.
The transmission begins.
If using an external telephone, replace the external telephone’s receiver.
