2.9 When unable to send fax
If the fax cannot be sent because the recipient’s line is busy, it can be transmitted again by using the redial
function.
The redial function of this machine has auto redial, manual redial and resend functions.

The destination cannot be changed for either auto redial or manual redial in the Current Jobs list.
Even after redialing, if the fax cannot be sent because of problems with the line, refer to "Fax cannot be
sent" on page 4-2.
Redial
Dialing the same destination again is called "redialing".
When a fax cannot be sent because the recipient’s fax machine line is busy, the number is redialed after a
set period has elapsed. Until it is redialed, the job to be sent is treated as a reserved job standing by to be
redialed.
Auto redial function
When you are unable to send a fax because the recipient’s line is busy, the machine automatically redials the
number of times set via the Line Parameter Setting.

Detail
The number of auto redials set in advance is 3 times, at three-minute intervals in European models, 1
time, at three-minute intervals in North American models. Refer to "Specifying transmission/receiving
mode (Line Parameter Settings)" on page 10-43 regarding auto redial frequency settings.
Manual redial (Current Jobs list)
This operation enables you to manually redial jobs waiting to be redialed.

Touch [Job List], and then touch [Job Details].
