Fax cannot be received
If the fax cannot be received, refer to the following table, and then perform the indicated operations. If the fax
still cannot be received correctly, even after performing the described operations, contact your technical
representative.

Fax cannot be re-
ceived
Is the paper loaded?
When the paper load icon lights up and there is no paper in the
tray, the received original is stored in the memory. Load the pa-
per.
For details on paper loading operation, refer to the User’s Guide
[Copy operations].
Is the paper blocked?
If there is a paper misfeed, the received original is stored in the
memory.
Remove the blocked paper.
For details on the remedy of paper misfeed, refer to the User’s
Guide [Copy Operations].
Is the toner empty?
Fax cannot be received if the toner is empty.
Replace the toner cartridge immediately.
For details on the toner cartridge replacement, refer to the User’s
Guide [Copy Operations].
Is the machine set to re-
ceive faxes manually?
When the [Receiver Mode] of the Utility mode is set to [Manual
RX], reception operation is necessary. Refer to "Manual reception
(Telephone only mode)" on page 3-4 and carry out the reception
operation.
Is the telephone line con-
nected correctly?
Is the telephone line disconnected?
Check the telephone line connection and connect it if it is discon-
nected.
Is the [Closed Network RX]
valid?
If the [Closed Network RX] is valid, fax is received from specific
senders only.
Contact your administrator.
Was the fax sent with an in-
correct SUB address in the
F-code by the sender?
If an incorrect SUB address is received while confidential box or
Relay User Box is set, a transmission error occurs and the fax
cannot be received. Check the SUB address setting on the send-
er’s fax machine.
Fax cannot be
printed
Is the PC-FAX RX functions
set?
Check the Box saved in PC-FAX RX functions.
Is the TSI User Box Setting
set?
Check the Box saved by TSI User Box Setting.
Is the forced Memory RX
function set?
When the Memory RX function is set, print the received original
as follows.
1. Press [User Box] key.
2. Touch [Use Document].
3. Touch [System User Box].
4. Touch [Memory RX User Box] and then touch [OK].
5. When password is set, enter the password and touch [OK].
6. Select the original which is to be printed and touch [Print List].
Or, set the [Memory RX Setting] to [No].
