Calculate the number of IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) ports required
IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) TIE trunks are provisioned based on average
busy-hour traffic tables, using the calculated amount of voice and fax
traffic between IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) nodes.
– Poisson 1% blocking Grade of Service" (page 99)
shows the number
of trunks required based on average busy hour CCS for a 1% blocking
Grade of Service.
Table 11 "Trunk traffic – Poisson 10% blocking Grade of
shows the number of trunks required based on average
busy-hour CCS for a 10% blocking Grade of Service.
A lower Grade of Service, such as P.10, might be preferred if overflow
routing is available through the PSTN, circuit-switched VPN, or IP Trunk
3.01 (and later) TIE trunks.
