A. Protocols
Available Protocols
Jupiter ESBus
Protocol
Enables the NV9000 to switch Philips routers using a
VM3000 controller. Very old Philips routers might not
function with this interface. However, most late model
matrices, such as Venus, are supported. A properly configured
VM3000 is required.
Please note: The NV9000 does not connect directly to a
Philips matrix. Operation using a serial port on an SI-3000 is
not recommended if the total controlled matrix space will
exceed 256 × 256.
RS-422 crossover or null
modem cable required.
GVG Horizon
TCI Protocol
Supports connection to a Grass Valley Group Horizon series
router through an HX-GPI external controller. An HX-GPI
unit running TCI protocol is required for this interface to
function.
Please note the NV9000 control point settings for Horizon: S,
‹COM port›, 9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit.
RS-422 crossover with
non-standard pinout. See
the application note
Probel Router
Protocol
Supports control of most Probel routers. Contact Miranda
regarding the specific models supported.
Varies by application.
Consult the Probel
documentation and refer
to the NV9000 Router
Control System User’s
Guide for additional
information regarding
configuration of the
Probel external
interface.
Pesa Protocol
Supports control of most Pesa routers. Contact Miranda
regarding the specific models supported. A properly
configured Pesa controller is required between the NV9000
server and the Pesa routers. This connection is RS-232 using
one of the ports on the Pesa controller that is normally
reserved for the Pesa configuration PC. Pesa does not support
an RS-422 interface.
RS-232 pins Tx, Rx, and
ground (on a DB-9,
typically pins 2, 3 and
5). The Pesa end must be
wired for RS-232
loopback.
Connect RTS to CTS
and DTR to DSR.
ISIS Serial
Protocol
Used to control ISIS wideband analog video routers.
RS-422 wired straight
through.
DataTek D-2815
Serial Protocol
Used to control older DataTek routers that support the D-2815
protocol.
Please consult the
DataTek documentation.
Miranda controller ports
use the SMPTE 207M
controlling port pinout:
TX+ 3 RX+ 7
TX– 8 RX– 2
Sony CART+
Serial Protocol
Enables the NV9000 to control Sony routers that support the
“Sony CART+” protocol.
Please consult the Sony
documentation.
