Updating Devices
How to Update a Physical Connection
1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane and then ‘PhysConns’. The ‘PhysConns’
To narrow the list of connections that display, enter the first characters of a device name in the
‘Device Filter’ field. The list is automatically reduced to display only devices matching that
character string.
Or
Enter the first characters of a virtual level name in the ‘Virtual Level Filter’ field. The list is
automatically reduced to display only virtual levels matching that character string.

3 In the row listing the physical connection being updated, click in a column to activate it and
update information as follows:

Column
Description
Description
Update the description of the connectors.
Device
From the drop-down list, select a new type of device for the physical connection.
Virtual Level
From the drop-down list, select a new virtual level to be associated with the physical
connection.
Port Number
Update the unique port number for the connection. The number must be number (no
letters or symbols) and limited to 8 characters.
Port Type
From the drop-down list, update if the port is an ‘Output Port’, ‘Input Port’ or
‘Bidirectional Port’.
