Adding a Control Panel
Adding a Control Panel
A control panel can be added and configured at any time. Once changes are saved, there is no
“undo” function; the configuration is permanently altered. To implement saved configuration
changes, the changes must be written to the NV9000 system controller for dispersal to connected
routers. For information on implementing changes, see
Implementing Configuration Changes
Control panels can be added using a wizard, page or table. Each performs specific tasks:
• ‘Add Control Panel’ wizard (accessed through the ‘Tasks’ pane)
—
A step-by-step guide to add
a single control panel. Opens the ‘Control Panels Details’ page through which control panels
are defined.
• ‘Control Panels’ page (accessed through the ‘Configuration’ pane)
—
A list of existing panels to
which a new control panel can be added. Opens the ‘Control Panels Details’ page through
which panels are added and updated.
• ‘Panels’ table (accessed through the ‘Views’ pane)
—
A list of existing panels and configuration
files, one row per configuration file. Using this table, a control panel can be added to an exist-
ing configuration file, but no control panel definitions, such as buttons, can be added. That must
be done through the ‘Control Panel Details’ page accessed through ‘Control Panels’ page.
Several control panels can be added quickly by entering minimal control panel information in the
‘Add Control Panel’ wizard and then clicking the
Finish
button. The control panel name and type is
added and all fields cleared so that another control panel can be added immediately. However, no
control panel configurations, such as buttons, are added. Panels can be configured at a later date
using the ‘Control Panels’ page accessed through the ‘Configuration’ pane.
The pages used to configure control panels feature a level filter. These filters enable you to limit the
choices that display to only sources, destinations, or categories within a selected level.
