Changing External Interface Connection Protocol (Type)

The protocol selected for an external interface determines the type of connection: Ethernet or serial.
The protocol associated with an external interface can be updated using the ‘Apps’ table accessed
through the ‘Views’ pane. For information on updating Ethernet or serial connection information,
see

on page 421.

Connection Type

Field

Description

(displays if Ethernet
protocol selected)

IP Address

Enter the IP address for the external interface communication
with the NV9000-SE system.

(displays if serial
protocol selected)

Port

From the drop-down list, select a port and then select settings
for that port as required.
Note: The serial port settings differ depending on which

protocol was selected in Step 3. The Miranda router standard is
38.4 K baud, 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit.
