Align the top of the documents.

(feeder), and adjust the side guides to the widest
document in the batch.

4.2 Scanning Documents of Different Types and Sizes

ATTENTION

When you scan a mixed batch with different widths, some of the
narrower documents may be skewed or not fed into the scanner. In that
case, you should place the narrower documents at the center of the
ADF so that the documents are fed into the scanner by feed rollers
without any problems.

For details about document requirements for scanning a mixed batch of
documents, refer to

"Conditions for Mixed Batch Scanning" (page 53)

ATTENTION

Make sure that all documents are placed underneath the pick
roller. Otherwise, some documents may be skewed or not fed into
the ADF.
