Compensation-value table

If you wish to create and fill the compensation value table with data

yourself, proceed as follows:

To call the file manager, press the PGM MGT key

Enter any file name with the TAB extension and confirm with the

ENT key. The TNC displays a pop-up window with permanently

saved table formats

Use the arrow key to select the table format 3DTOOLCOMP.TAB and

confirm with the ENT key. The TNC opens a new table containing

only one line and those columns that are required for the function of

3D-ToolComp

The TNC evaluates the following columns of the compensation value

table:

ANGLE

:

Angle at the tool’s cutting edge to which the determined

compensation value NOM-DR2 belongs. Input range: 0° to 180°; for

radius cutters the angle values are between 0° and 90°

NOM-R2

:

Nominal radius R2 of the tool. The TNC uses the values from NOM-R2

only to determine the end of the compensation value table: The end

of the table is the line where the value=0 is entered in the NOM-R2

column

NOM-DR2

:

Deviation from the nominal value (oversize) and negative values

(undersize) are permitted

The laser measuring cycle 598 automatically creates the

compensation value table. In this regard, please note the

documentation for laser measuring cycles.

The compensation value table is a "freely definable table."

See "Freely definable tables", page 481 for further

information about working with freely definable tables.

If the TNC does not show a pop-up window or the
3DTOOLCOMP

table format when you open a new .tab file, you

must first use the COPY SAMPLE FILES function to

generate the table formats (see "Copying sample files" on

page 667).

The TNC evaluates a maximum of 50 lines in a

compensation value table.
The TNC evaluates negative angle values from the ANGLE

column but compensates the compensation values

always in the positive angle range of the tool.
