Drive Start Up

Applying Power to the Drive
The remainder of the “Drive Start Up” procedure in this manual uses a HIM to
configure and autotune the drive. If you prefer, you can use the DriveExplorer™,
DriveTools™ SP, or Connected Components Workbench™ software to program
drive parameters or use the drive “Start Up” wizard (basic application
configuration only) available with both software packages. You must use
DriveExplorer v5.02 or higher or DriveTools SP v4.01 or higher with a PowerFlex

Apply Voltage to the Control Circuits
1.
Apply power to the control circuits (terminals U2 and V2) of the drive.
2.
If any of the digital inputs are configured to “Stop/CF” (CF = Clear
Fault), “Enable” or “Aux Fault,” verify that signals are present or
reconfigure [Digital Inx Sel]. If a fault code displays, see Chapter 4 -
Troubleshooting on page

If the STS LED is not flashing green at this point, see “Drive Status
Indicators” below.
IMPORTANT
When power is first applied, the HIM may require approximately 5 seconds
until commands are recognized (including the Stop key).
