Chapter 12: Radio Programming

Select the CommPort tab corresponding to the serial port you will be using to connect your
radio modem. You must have Full Duplex Buffering disabled.
Type: Select Radio Modem
Port Baud Rate: set the baud rate to match the communications rate of your radio modem.
Enable Port: Click to enable.
Alarm Dialout: Enables a host PC to perform an alarm dialout when the host computer on the
radio network is connected to a phone line.
Adjust the modbus communications (protocol) settings as required. Higher settings may be
required for slower networks. Click the button beside the Type setting to bring up the following
form.

These settings are used to program the transmit and receive settings between the host com-
puter and its radio modem. If your radio modem does not use flow control, disable both the
Transmit and Receive Flow Control boxes shown above. If your radio modem does use flow con-
trol, you will need to check Enable for both Transmit and Receive Flow Control, and adjust the
timing parameters to match the characteristics of your radio modem. The following timing dia-
grams show the logical sequence of the flow control signals.
