Graphical Interface Uploading
Example 3.31. Uploading a Certificate with the Web Interface or InControl
In this example a certificate stored on the management workstation computer's disk is to be
uploaded.
InControl
1.
Go to: Objects > General > Key Ring > Add > Certificate
2.
Specify a suitable name for the certificate, for example my_cert
3.
Select Import... from Options
4.
Use the file chooser to select a certificate file with the filetype .cer. The private key file with
filetype .key should exist in the same directory. If the private key is not found, InControl will
prompt for its location.
5.
Click OK
Web Interface
1.
Go to: Objects > Key Ring > Add > Certificate
2.
Specify a suitable name for the certificate, for example my_cert
3.
Select Upload X.509 Certificate
4.
Use the file choosers to select a local public and the private key certificate file. Both must be
chosen for the upload to be successful with a certificate that is not remote.
5.
Click OK
Uploading Remote Certificates
A Remote Certificate is issued by a CA authority and consists of just a single file with a filetype of
.cer and this is the public key. The private key is kept on the CA server. The cOS Core upload
procedure just consists of uploading this one file.
