Boom
Use shims (8) under the upper rear wear pads as required
to maintain a maximum gap of 0.09" (2,3 mm) (9) at the
front edge of the top wear pads and maintain a total
maximum gap of 0.09" (2,3 mm) on the boom sides.
Shims are available in two thicknesses, 0.06'' and 0.13''.
b. Intermediate Boom
Coat all wear pad capscrews with Loctite 242
®
(blue)
before installation.
The wear pads (10) on the front of the intermediate boom
can be replaced by removing the fasteners securing them
to the top, sides and bottom of the boom.
When removing pads, move the boom sections as
needed to gain access for removal and installation of
wear pads. Mark or otherwise label each pad, spacer/
shim and hardware set for ease of installation later. Top
wear pads are secured to the boom with washers and
capscrews; side wear pads are secured with washers
and capscrews. Use Loctite
®
242 (blue) on all wear pad
capscrews.

0.09" (2,3 mm) between the wear pad and boom surface.
