Electrical System
5. Remove the front wiper arm assembly (14) from the
wiper motor shaft (13) and the pivot mount
shaft (12).
6. Remove the driver (15), rubber cap (16), nut (17),
fastening washer (18) and rubber washer (19) from
the shaft assembly (13).
7. Tag and remove any hydraulic or electrical
components which will be in the way of removing the
wiper motor.
8. Remove the two capscrews (20) securing the wiper
motor (21), support bracket spacer plate (22),
pantographic mounting plate (23) and gasket (24) to
the front of the cab (25).
9. Label and disconnect the three wire connector (26)
from the back of the front wiper motor. Label the
ground wire (28) and remove the screw (27)
securing it to the wiper motor case. Place the screw
back into the wiper motor case for re-assembly.
10. Remove the wiper motor (21) from the inside of the
cab.
b. Disassembly
DO NOT disassemble the motor. The motor is not
serviceable. Replace motor if found to be defective.
c. Cleaning and Drying
Without submerging the motor, clean the motor with an
approved solvent and dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
d. Inspection and Replacement
Inspect the motor terminals for continuity. Replace motor
if continuity is not found. (Refer to Section 9.8.38, “Front
Wiper/Washer Circuit & Troubleshooting.”)
