IPv6 static route configuration example
Network requirements
The IP addresses of devices are shown in
. IPv6 static routes must be configured on Switch A,
Switch B and AP for Host A and Host B to communicate with each other.

Configuration outlines
1.
On Switch A, configure a default route with Switch B as the next hop.
2.
On Switch B, configure one static route with Switch A as the next hop and the other with AP as the
next hop.
3.
On AP, configure a default route with Switch B as the next hop.
Configuration procedure
1.
Specify gateway 1::1 for Host A and gateway 3::1 for Host B.
2.
Configure a default route with the next hop address 4::2 on Switch A.
3.
Configure a static route with destination address 1::/64 and next hop address 4::1 on Switch B.
4.
Configure a default route on AP.
a.
Select Network > IPv6 Routing from the navigation tree
b.
Click the Create tab to enter the IPv6 static route configuration page, as shown in
c.
Enter destination IP address ::, select prefix length 0, and enter next hop 3::3.
d.
Click Apply.
