Setting The Menu Lockouts
Purpose
To prevent unauthorized changing of printer operating parameters, the
“Utilities,” “Setup I/O Ports,” “Setup Printer,” and “Processing Defaults”
menus of the Printer Control Panel can all be independently locked. This
setting of the menu lockouts is accomplished through use of the password
protected System Administration main menu as described below:
PATH TO SETTING THE MENU LOCKOUTS
At the Printer Control Panel when the display shows , press [ON-
LINE]. When the display shows , press [ENTER]. When the
display shows , press [NEXT] until ADMINISTRATION> is displayed. Press [ENTER] and, using the numeric
keypad, input the required “password,” then press [ENTER] again. If LOCKOUT> is not displayed, press [NEXT] until it is and press [ENTER].
Use the [NEXT] and [PREVIOUS] keys to scroll through the list of main menu
names. Press [ENTER], followed by pressing [NEXT] to change the locking
condition of the displayed item. Press [ENTER] to confirm or [EXIT] to
escape. Press [EXIT] to escape the current menu. Press [ON-LINE] to put
the printer back on line.
