Setting The Pen Palette Options

Pen Palette Purpose

There are eight user definable palettes (1 - 8), and one factory default palette
which cannot be changed (palette 0). Palettes may be assigned for use by
any of four data format interpreters (HPGL/2, CGM, CalComp, VDS/VRF and
VDS/ordered vector format).

You can define palette content locally at the 8825/8830 printer control panel
or remotely through the Xerox Printer Manager Tool software. The pen width,
pattern, and color can be set individually for each pen. Control of the pen
functions and attributes is either by job commands or printer default
commands.

The pen palette option is used to assign default values to a pen palette.
Define each of the following functions for each pen palette.

ASSIGNING A PALETTE NUMBER

Ranges: 0 - 8

Default: 1

ASSIGNING A PEN COLOR NUMBER

Range: 0 - 255

Default: 255

ASSIGNING A PEN PATTERN NUMBER

Range: 0 - 49

Default: 0

ASSIGNING A PEN WIDTH VALUE

Range: (1 - 2540).

Default: 0.35

When processing a CGM format file, only the color attribute of the pen palette
is used to override the file defined LUT. The palette pen width and pattern
attributes are not used when assigned to a CGM file.

In processing a VDS-Ordered Vector format file, only pen number 1 attributes
may be used.
