Setting the Justification Y Set Option
Purpose of Justification Y Option
Specifies the top margin position of the printed image on the page. Can be
specified in absolute terms (millimeters) or relative (center, top, bottom) when
the output print is not a specific size (e.g. ANSI D, ARCH C, ISO B2, etc.).
For roll-fed media, the y axis runs at a 90° angle to the feed direction of the
media. For sheet-fed media, the y axis is on the short edge of the paper.
Range: NUMERIC (0 - 2540 MM), TOP, CENTER, or BOTTOM
Default: BOTTOM
This parameter sets the justification of the image on the page. Justification
may be specified in absolute distances or using one of the relative terms
(LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT) for the X direction and (TOP, CENTER, BOTTOM)
for the Y direction.
There are several possible scenarios for handling the case where the
justification is specified for X and Y in absolute distance (pixels). In the case
where the image size is fixed and the physical paper size is fixed, then the
image is justified with the specified X and Y dimensions from the upper left
corner of the page. In other words, the image is justified relative to the corner
of the paper.
If the image size or paper size adaptively varies in one or both of the X and Y
directions, then for the varying dimensions, the justification specification acts
as a margin specification: the varying dimension will be adjusted to allow the
specified justification distance on either side of the image relative to the
paper. Image size adaptively varies when auto-scaling is applied. Physical
paper size varies when a roll is specified (as in long plot), and the length is
cut to fit the image length.
If justification is set to one of LEFT, TOP, RIGHT, or BOTTOM, the image is
justified in the appropriate manner on the physical page.
If justification is set to CENTER, then the image will be justified in the center
of the printable page area.
