1.1.4 Node Slots
The backplane in a Centellis 4100 system provides 12 node slots. They are located to the left
and to the right of the two hub slots in the middle.
The node slots can be equipped with AdvancedTCA blades. Artesyn Embedded Technologies
- Embedded Computing provides the ATCA-7221, a high-performance, single slot, hot-
swappable node blade.
1.1.5 Hub Slots
The hub slots are usually equipped with ATCA-F120 switches. This blade combines standard
PICMG 3.0 base interface and PICMG 3.1 fabric interface 10Gb Ethernet switching and
optionally provides a Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) clock generator for clock
synchronization of line cards and other shelves.
1.1.6 Rear Transition Modules
The AdvancedTCA blades can be connected to Rear Transition Modules (RTM) to provide easy
access to I/O signals through the zone 3 connector defined by the AdvancedTCA specification.
