Unused Slots
All unused node, hub, PMC or AMC slots must be covered with filler blades. These blades ensure
a consistent airflow per slot whether or not the neighboring slot contains an AdvancedTCA
blade. Filler blades are available from Artesyn Embedded Technologies - Embedded
Computing.
You have to remove the front and rear filler blades if you want to install an RTM or an
AdvancedTCA blade.

Installing Power Entry Modules
This section provides the information needed to start up the power entry modules (PEMs) and
to exchange them.
The system is equipped with four PEMs. They are installed beneath the rear slots of the
backplane.
Each PEM is capable of supplying 50A. The PEMs provide two studs for each attachment point
so that two-hole lugs can be used to attach power cables. This ensures that the power cables
cannot move and cause short circuits.
