Base Interface
The base interface is configured as a dual star in an Ethernet network environment (residing on
the P23 and P24 connectors). The dual star topology backplane requires two dedicated hub
slots for hub blades to be inserted. Two GB Ethernet switches located in physical slots 7 and 8
provide redundant network connection via the base interface. The base interface is routed
from each of the hub slots to all other blades in the shelf in dual star topology. The protocol is
10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet. Connections are composed of four differential signal pairs (one
