The fabric interface is fully compliant to the PICMG 3.0, R1.0 Specification. Therefore, details are
not described within this chapter.
5.2.3 Update Channel
This interface resides on the P20 connector. The update channel connects physically adjacent
pairs of slots. It is comprised of 10 differential signal pairs capable of bit rates up to
3.125 Gbyte/s each in a point-to-point connection between any two redundant pairs of slots.
The ten pairs of two adjacent slots are connected in five crossed bidirectional pairs: row ab of
slot N is connected to row cd of slot N+1; row cd of slot N is connected to ab of slot N+1. For
further details please refer to the PICMG 3.0, R.1.0 specification, figure 6.15. Pairs of compatible
blades may use those lines for their proprietary purpose.
