Searching the
OSPF Link State
Database Using
the CLI
To search the OSPF link state database using the CLI, enter the
following command from Priv mode:
># show ip ospf database

Parameter
Definition
Area
Displays the 32-bit identifier of the area from which
the LSA was received.
Type
Displays the link state type. Types include:
• Router Links
• Network Links
• Summary Network
• Summary AS Border
• AS External
• Multicast Group
• NSSA External
LS ID
Displays the link-state ID. The link-state ID is an LS
type specific field containing either a router ID or an
IP address that identifies the piece of the routing
domain that is being described by the advertisement.
Router ID
Displays the router ID of the originator of the link
state advertisement.
Sequence
Displays the link-state sequence number. The
sequence number is a 32-bit signed integer.
Checksum
Displays the checksum of the complete contents of
the advertisement, except the age field.
Age
Displays the time (in seconds) of the LSA.
Network Mask
Displays the network mask for the LSA.
Attached
Router ID 1 &2
Displays the router ID for the attached router(s).
