User Guidelines
An access port does not dynamically join a VLAN because it is always a member in only one VLAN.
Membership in an untagged VLAN is propagated in the same way as in a tagged VLAN. That is, the PVID is
manually defined as the untagged VLAN VID.
Example
The following example enables GVRP on Ethernet port 1/g6.
garp timer
The garp timer Interface Configuration (Ethernet, Port channel) mode command adjusts the values of the join,
leave and leaveall timers of GARP applications. Use the no form of this command to return to the default
configuration.
Syntax
garp timer {join | leave | leaveall} timer_value
no garp timer
Parameters
•
{join | leave | leaveall} — Indicates the type of timer.
•
timer_value — Timer values in milliseconds in multiples of 10. (Range: 10-2147483647)
Default Configuration
Following are the default timer values:
•
Join timer — 200 milliseconds
•
Leave timer — 600 milliseconds
•
Leavall timer — 10000 milliseconds

User Guidelines
The following relationship must be maintained between the timers:
Leave time must be greater than or equal to three times the join time.
Leave-all time must be greater than the leave time.
Set the same GARP timer values on all Layer 2-connected devices. If the GARP timers are set differently on Layer
2-connected devices, the GARP application will not operate successfully.
